The hotel
La Tartana stood ready in 1967 and was purpose-built as a hotel. The name ‘La Tartana’ comes from a type of stage coach where the passengers sat facing out instead of looking forward.

The hotel is built with a cobblestoned entrance, opening to a central fountain and upper galleries. The hotel covers 500m2 on a plot of 2,000m2.

The hotel has a single star, though the building standard, rooms’ size and amenities are first-class. In the village of La Herradura there is one 4-star hotel, a few 2- and 3- star hotels, 2 hostels and a pension. There is no direct competition in La Herradura nor in any of the nearby towns.
